Las Fallas Information

Nymph and Pyr-omaniacs,

Not long now.

You would have noticed things are warming up, and by the time we get to Valencia the burning statues won't be the only things keeping you warm.

Well the sun, for one, will be burning quite bright down there, by then.

And the sangria, warming from the inside.

Dancing, well we'll be doing plenty of that, and that always warms us up.

And let's not forget the spooning.

Over the next two weeks I am going to be sending you, bit by bit, the trip itinerary.

I don't want to bombard you with too much information at once.

I know that with the studying, the partying and the language barriers the old gray matter is stretched to the limit...

Bare with me now while I address some FAQs.

1) I apologize, in Australia return travel means round trip, in the United States it merely means the way back. We are going to take you from Barcelona and back (or we'll meet you there if you are coming from another city).

2) Although Las Fallas goes all week, the Friday is the culmination, the burning of the effigies, and the big finale party.

3) The bus trip down will take us 3.5 - 4 hours. Our camp is by the beach 10 minutes from the center of town on our bus.

4) We are staying in a secure camp, with a massive toilet and shower block, swimming pool, store, bar, and it is by the beach. The Stoke camp has it's own bar (all you can drink five euros), a DJ set up and kitchen (some meals are included).

5) We sleep in tents, with mats and sleeping bags. This isn't wilderness camping, this is more like a giant sleep over separated by slivers of nylon. Valuables can be locked away for the weekend and there is constant 24 hour security.

6) If you can't leave with us on the bus from Barcelona (say you have class) there will be a later departure for a small surcharge.

So there you have it. Please don't hesitate to shoot us any more questions.

All the information is on http://stoketravel.com/valencia.htm, and we are available to answer all your booking and general queries at info@stoketravel.com

This is Spain's third biggest festival, you would be crazy to miss it!

Especially with your friends here at Stoke!

Stoke Travel - hotter than a bonfire.
